2016-17 CONCERT SCHEDULE

CHRISTMAS CONCERTS

 Come Celebrate Christmas with DJC!

Now in its eighteenth year, the chorus continues to present programs of music that appeal to all ages, especially their Christmas shows. This year promises to be no different.

This year’s show, Come Celebrate Christmas, features the chorus’s signature sound of a cappella spirituals: Great Joy a Comin’!, See That Star, Ain’t Dat a Rockin’ All Night?. Attendees will be amazed to hear Betelehemu, a Nigerian Christmas carol, sung in the native tongue. The chorus will also perform an arrangement of Silent Night that was made popular by the famous a cappella group Pentatonix.

Director David Johnson stated, “Our a cappella numbers certainly stretched the limits of our ability as a chorus, but I think audiences will be impressed with how well we pull them off.”

Traditional Christmas songs will also be presented at the concert. A medley of songs from the popular Christmas movie, Polar Express, will have audiences tapping their feet. And no Christmas show would be complete without the singing of White Christmas.

Included in the program of music will be Christian performing artist, Chris Tomlin’s, song, Emmanuel.
